Poi Spinning

POI was used, many years ago, by the indigenous Maori people of New Zealand to increase their flexibility and strength in their hands and arms as well as improving coordination. In modern day society, poi comes in many different forms. Comet or tail poi, LED poi, flag or fabric poi, glow stick, and fire poi are among the most popular. In the mid 90s Poi was popularized throughout the world largely by fire spinning at dance parties. It was around this time that Higgins Brothers created our first fabric poi.

There is now a large global community of enthusiasts devoted to modern poi
